The awards were presented by Bulgaria\u2019s Ministry of Education and Science.<br \/><br \/>Prof. Slavcho Tomov received the award in the category for an established researcher. His work has contributed to the development of robotic and minimally invasive surgery, innovative medical technologies and contemporary medical science. Prof. Martin Karamanliev received the award in the young researcher category. His recognised work includes robotic oncological surgery, international tele-mentoring, and the application of artificial intelligence and other innovative technologies in medicine.
