Lynch syndrome (LS) is the most common hereditary cause of colorectal cancer (CRC), accounting for 3-5% of all CRC cases. LS was previously termed hereditary nonpolyposis CRC (HNPCC) to emphasize the absence of colon polyps and to distinguish it from the other types of hereditary CRC, which are characterized by the presence of polyps, such as Adenomatous Polyposis Coli and Hamartomatous Polyposis syndrome.

Collagens are the most abundant proteins of the extracellular matrix (ECM) and are important for the mechanical properties of connective tissues, regulation of cell function, and communication. It recently became clear that they are also tightly involved in the regulation of adult stem cell functioning, such as renewal and differentiation.

Early pregnancy loss (EPL) or fetal loss is a relatively common pathology. Some of the causes of fetal loss include chromosomal abnormalities, genetic syndromes, thrombophilia, infections, antiphospholipid syndrome, and maternal diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, and inflammation. Nevertheless, more than 50% of EPLs remain idiopathic. Despite a wide range of investigations, no specific biomarkers with a high predictive value of threatening pregnancy losses have been identified.

Early pregnancy loss (EPL) or spontaneous abortion is the most common complication of human reproduction, with an incidence ranging between 50–70% of all conceptions. EPL is usually associated with genetic or chromosomal abnormalities in the developing embryo, viral infections, immunological and immunogenic causes , thrombophilia, endocrine disorders , poorly controlled type 1 diabetes and obesity. However, nearly 50% of the cases are idiopathic (due to unknown etiology).

In addition to their regenerative activity, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are highly involved in extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling . MSCs are multipotent stem cells (often referred to as adult stem cells) residing in most tissues poised to repair damage associated with trauma and ageing . As such, they are of great interest for most cell-based therapies . Adipose tissue-derived MSCs’ (ADMSCs) diverse differentiation capacity and immunomodulatory activity combined with their relative abundance, accessibility and low donor site morbidity render them particularly attractive therapeutic agents.

The extracellular matrix (ECM) initiates several mechanical cues that are able to activate intracellular signaling events through cell–matrix interactions. It is generally agreed that the quality and quantity of ECM determine its physical parameters, affecting cellular response, which also applies to the behavior of stem cells . Each organ or tissue provides specific mechanical cues that have to be understood in the context of the entire multicellular organization .

Nowadays, in Bulgaria there is a trend of increasing entry into the surgical field of robot-assisted surgery operations, which suggests a need for the establishment of a large number of specialists in this field in a short period. Based on these arguments, the Medical University of Varna was the first university in the country to introduce a robotic surgery training program for medical students. The study aims to investigate the medical students’ satisfaction on robotic surgery training provided at Medical University of Varna with da Vinci Skills Simulator.
